An interior studio in Bangalore shipped a redesign the team was proud to send to friends. Full-bleed photography, a thin menu, almost no words. Mumbai homeowners who arrived from a referral still could not tell whether the studio did apartments or only restaurants. The contact form had eleven fields. WhatsApp, the way those clients actually start a job, was absent. Pune and Delhi numbers in the footer were old. The site was pretty. It was not a lead machine.
A brochure site is not a lead machine
A brochure proves you exist. A lead machine tells a buyer in one screen what you do, where you do it, what it costs to start, and the next step. The Bangalore site did the first job. Enquiries stayed in Instagram DMs that nobody logged. GST quotations were rebuilt in email because the site never asked for a floor area or a city.
If you are paying for a redesign in India, judge it by calls booked, not by how it looks in a deck.
Three reasons customers leave before they enquire
The message stays vague
"We craft spaces" does not tell a Delhi buyer if you take 2BHK apartments. In the review model, 41% of exits happened on the first screen because the offer was a mood, not a service. Name the work, the cities (Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi), and a starting fee such as ₹40,000 for a measure.
UX friction on a phone
34% of exits came from friction: a hero video that would not skip on a mid-range Android phone, type too pale to read in sunlight, and a form that demanded a GSTIN before a conversation. Razorpay is irrelevant if you cannot get a name and a number. UPI can wait until there is a quote.
The call to action is weak
The remaining 25% reached the bottom and found "Get in touch" with no clue what would happen next. A strong action says "Book a 20-minute site-measure call" and opens WhatsApp with the city already filled. A weak one hopes the visitor will hunt.
The CrazzyCodes framework for a redesign
- One sentence offer, visible without scrolling, with cities you actually serve.
- Proof near the offer: a floor area, a timeline, a fee band that can support a GST quote.
- One primary action repeated: call, WhatsApp, or a four-field form.
- Speed on the phones your buyers use, tested in Bangalore traffic, not only on studio wifi.
- A weekly count of enquiries, not a folder of compliments.
